Statement of Philosophy
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is committed to offering teachers and staff quality professional learning opportunities that are grounded in research-based best practices. Workshops, meetings, and courses support and align with the district’s strategic plan, CMS Strategic Plan 2018: For a Better Tomorrow, as well as school and division initiatives.
Consistent with professional learning standards outlined by Learning Forward and the NC Department of Public Instruction, most offerings extend beyond a single session to an on‐going professional community that meets on a regular basis for the purpose of learning, planning, implementing, and problem solving.
Whether in a workshop or course setting, the goal of each professional learning experience is to support continuous improvement, exploration, and reflection in order to advance the academic achievement, physical safety, health, and emotional well‐being of our students.
